SHANGHAI, May 8 (SMM) – China's installed capacity of power batteries for new energy vehicles (NEVs) in April increased by 6.28% on the month and by 45.83% on the year, to stand at 5.41GWh, showed the latest survey by the Power Battery Application Branch of China Industrial Association of Power Sources,on Wednesday May 8.
Ternary batteries accounted for most of the increase, with their share in the NEV market expanding 10 percentage points year on year to 70% in April.
Installed capacity of lithium manganese oxide (LMO) batteries in April shrank 56.77% from a year earlier, as demand from special NEVs decreased.
